No steroids yet
One thing I forgot to mention the other day: they did an FFN test (fetal fibronectin), which basically can pretty much rule out the chance of going into labor over the following 2 weeks. It came back negative. based on that, they're pushing off the steroids, so my wife didn't start taking them yet.

I'm glad the FFN came back negative. I'm six weeks ahead of your wife and pg with 1, and I'm not as much at risk for preterm labor as she is, but I've also been having FFN tests since 24w. one of these days I wish I would run into her at the doctor :) (We're witht he same group).
But I do hope she does get the steroids at some point since it certainly makes a world of a difference in the event she does deliver early. I guess the docs know what theyre doing if the stitch and the negative FFN will keep things at bay for now.
i'm freaking out to answer your question. we've got to speak with the doctor and determine the risks. i'm not ready to blog about it b/c i don't want to upset anyone. this was not the plan and my husband and i don't know if we are prepared to deal with children with major disabilities. i keep thinking about what you said earlier...if it's a threat to my life then we have a choice.
